Sugarbowl.ink is a digital space and writers residency that empowers and promotes storytelling in Queensland, Australia, particularly for and by underrepresented writers.
Nestled in lush rainforest on Wangerriburra land, Tamborine Mountain, Sugarbowl honours the connection to this Country, its Indigenous peoples and their storytelling traditions.
Sovereignty was never ceded.

Sugarbowl's two-bedroom cottage is currently under construction. Applications will open late 2026.

Only an hour from the city lights of Brisbane and the sandy beaches of Gold Coast, Tamborine Mountain is a picturesque hinterland escape.
Within close distance to Sugarbowl, explore stunning flora and fauna at Curtis Falls Reserve, shop for treasures at Gallery Walk, and indulge with cafes, restaurants, wineries, and more.

This humble endeavour was founded by Liana Black, a Queensland writer, editor, and your new best friend until you tell her otherwise. Her profound love of writing, writers' retreats, and all of the friends she's made along the way inspired her dreams to begin a residency.
